THIS SEASON'S 300 SERIES WINES:
2019 Barbera
Barbera grapes grown in Lodi, California, fermented and aged here at Carlos Creek Winery. Bright red fruit notes stand out in the nose followed with black pepper, anise and mild smoke. It has lively acidity but smooth mouthfeel and tannin. Not one single flavor shows dominance in this beautifully balanced and complex wine.
Aged in new MN Oak for 15 months and neutral French for 4 months.
2018 Marquessa
Marquessa is a mark of the Marquessa Consortium, a small group of wineries that voluntarily subscribe to a rigorous wine making standard, producing this memorable wine. To be called a Marquessa the wine must have at least 75% Marquette wine. This bottle is 100% Marquette aged in one barrel. This barrel contained all the complexity that makes up a perfect examples of the Marquette variety.
2019 Petite Sirah
Petite Sirah grapes sourced in Lodi, CA. fermented, aged and bottled here at Carlos Creek Winery. This wine has a lot going on! Dark notes of plum, blackberry, tobacco, cola and earthy notes fill your nose. This full bodied wine has lively fruit, chewy tannins with a great mouthfeel that fills your palate.
This barrel was finished in MN Oak to soften the tannins and add a vanilla, anise character to polish it's complexity.
2017 Zinfandel
This Zinfandel is made from 30 year old Zinfandel grapes grown in the Lodi, CA region - which is known worldwide for their Zinfandel grapes. Fermented and aged at Carlos Creek. Aged 32 months in a Minnesota oak barrel.
