Expanding facilities at 22 Northmen Brewing Co.

22 Northmen Brewing Co. has been busy since establishment in the summer of 2019. From the start, the support of the local community has been outstanding, allowing the brewery to thrive and grow. In fact, 2022's third quarter produced the most kegs of beer the brewery has ever made in one season. To accommodate all the continued growth, 22 Northmen is expanding its facilities.

Planned facilities expansion

New Beer Production building

The current production space (visible behind the taproom bar) is no longer large enough to accommodate all the brewery's equipment. Construction on a new building right next to the current one will break ground in late October. This new building will serve as the new beer production facility, and house all brewing equipment.

Canning capabilities

As a result of having more space, 22 Northmen will be adding canning equipment in the new production space to offer off-sale cans for purchase in the taproom. This change comes after the new Minnesota law that went into effect in May 2022 that increased taproom capabilities to sell to-go beer.

Larger taproom with more customer space

During winter of 2023, the existing production space will be converted into an even larger taproom with more area for customers to gather. Stay tuned for more details on what this may look like!

Estimated completion date

We estimate that the new area of the taproom will be ready for Memorial Day weekend 2023, and plan for off-sale cans of 22 Northmen beer to be available for purchase in the taproom at that time as well.
